Article Outline
Christopher A. Garces, MD, is a Resident in General Surgery at the University of Florida. He received his B.S. and M.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin. During his surgical career, he completed a laboratory fellowship in surgical oncology before completing his surgical training. He plans an academic career in general surgery and surgical oncology.
Priscilla F. McAuliffe, MD, PhD, is a Resident in General Surgery at the University of Florida. She received her B.S. and M.D. degrees from Cornell University. During her surgical training, she completed a laboratory fellowship in molecular genetics and was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of Florida for this work. She plans a career in academic general surgery and surgical oncology.
Steven N. Hochwald, MD, is Assistant Professor and Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He received his B.A. degree from the Johns Hopkins University and his M.D. degree from New York University School of Medicine. He completed residency in general surgery at New York University Medical Center, a research fellowship in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and a surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. His research interests involve the interaction between focal adhesion kinase and insulin-like growth factor receptor-1 in pancreatic cancer cell signaling and survival.
William G. Cance, MD, is Professor and Chairman of Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He received his B.S. and M.D. degrees from Duke University. He completed residency in general surgery at Barnes Hospital, a research fellowship in microbiology and immunology at Washington University School of Medicine, and a surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
