A Note to Our Readers

Dear Readers:

I have been Editor of Current Problems in Surgery for 20 years and it is time for me to move over and let someone else take this spot. Elsevier has conducted a thorough search and is most fortunate to have recruited Dr. Stanley Ashley, the Frank Sawyer Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and the Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital, to be the new Editor beginning with this issue of the Journal. During my tenure, I have appreciated the support of the Editorial Board; Mr. Andrew Berin, Executive Publisher at Elsevier, Inc.; Ms. Marla Kipp, the Journal Manager at Cadmus Communications; and especially Ms. Mary Ruemker, my administrative assistant; and Dr. Lawrence Creswell, the Assistant Editor. Above all I have appreciated the loyalty of the readership of Current Problems in Surgery.
